DESCRIPTION:Course in STATISTICAL PRACTICE IN EPIDEMIOLOGY USING R \n================================================== \n\nTartu\, Estonia\,Monday 2 June to Friday 6 June 2025;\n\nsee https://bendixcarstensen.com/SPE/ \n  \nDeadline for application: 1 April\, 2025. \n  \nThe course is aimed at epidemiologists and statisticians who wish to use R for statistical modelling and analysis of epidemiological data. \nThe course requires basic knowledge of epidemiological concepts and study types. These will only be briefly reviewed\, whereas the more advanced epidemiological and statistical concepts will be treated in depth. \n  \nContents: \nHistory of R. Language. Objects. Functions. \nInterface to other dataformats. Dataframes. \nTabulation of data. \nLogistic regression for case-control-studies. \nPoisson regression for follow-up studies. \nCausal inference. \nParametrization of models. \nGraphics in R. \nGraphical reporting of results. \nTime-splitting & SMR. \nNested and matched case-control studies. \nCase-cohort studies. \nSurvival analysis in continuous time. \nCompeting risk models and relative survival. \nMultistate models. \n  \nThe Epi package for epidemiological analysis in R will be introduced. Maintainer of the Epi package. \n– Martyn Plummer\, Professor of Statistics\, University of Warwick\, United Kingdom.
